Only 17,xxx miles, mint condition inside and out. And no, not mint if you overlook a scratch here or there... it's 99.9% showroom condition. It was detailed weekly over the months it was used. I'm hoping to get somewhere near $75k for it.

Pretty sweet...waaaay above my budget but I'm sure you will find a buyer.

The first thing I noticed was the (now) expired registration. Old photo?

Yes that picture is at least 2 years old

You'd be surprised, these things have depreciated like hell. Sticker MSRP was $186k.

I'm not surprised at all. I am a car-buying consultant, folks pay me to shop and negotiate for them. Unfortunately I don't have any clients at the time that are in the market for an uber-sedan, but if I did this would do nicely as I work primarily in the NJ/PA/DE area.

KBB says $49,500. Good luck.

worthmonkey says even lower, but that doesn't take into account the great condition, so I will give you that.

I know, but the value of a limited production vehicle isn't accurately reflected by KBB in many circumstances. They only brought something like 425 of these to the United States, for just one year before the W221 redesign.

That is an awesome job, I'd love to know more about it.

That thing is badass. Why you selling that?
I never really like W220 tough, unless it's an AMG.

Its for sale because its rarely used, as illustrated by the mileage.

I see..
Man, if i were you i wouldn't mind driving it everyday. Just like my W140 S600.

This was intended as a weekend/summer car, but I got a 2012 Wrangler w/ 6 speed that fulfilled this role nicely. Also, I now spend most of my time on two wheels.

'Dem exhausts.
Great car, but isn't $75,000 a bit too much? I believe SL65s tend to sell for less.

I likely won't get quite that much but given it's exclusivity and condition, I believe somebody will pull the trigger on it for above "book value."

Yes, even when you consider the low mileage, clean examples of the W220 S65 AMG aren't changing hands for more than $40K these days.

What do you want to know? I can tell you it is not full time, I don't get enough clients to pay the bills. I have a day-job and the consulting is for extra money.

Hmm, thats about $2000 over KBB (yes, I know KBB is BS but thats what most buyers look at.

Nobody wants to be staring down the barrel of a twin turbo V12 that has yet to even have a carbon cleaning, rail/coil replacement, or any of the serious stuff you see at high mileage.
That's my problem with low mileage luxury. It hasn't been used enough to let all the problems smile in your face. I'd rather take a 80k example that's been through the servicing rounds at least once.

75k is current (or is that now old?) S65 money.
75k on a car that has barley enough miles to let all the potential issues rise up, especially with that engine which is a nightmare in most respects.
Pass the crack pipe.

Exactly. Parts, maintenance, gas, insurance, rear tires, etc., are expensive. So too is college. Choices have been made.
